And Ryan Reynolds jokingly despaired ‘showbiz is not good for kids!’ as he revealed that his eldest daughter, four-year-old James, wants to be an actor.

The Deadpool star, 43, shared his child's career ambitions during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday as he gave an update on his three girls he shares with actress wife Blake Lively.

Both Ryan and Blake, 32, have carved out successful acting careers, with the duo even meeting on the set of fantasy adventure film Green Lantern.

And it seems that their offspring is keen to follow in their footsteps as Ryan opened up about James' aspirations to Jimmy, 45.

'She wants to be an actor,' Ryan declared.

'I'm fine if she wants to be an actor. Go ahead. You know, in school, do after school stuff like that. That's all fine.

'Right now it's every day is like a recital, she's singing songs, she's doing little plays at home, but being a child actor in movies and stuff, that's a whole other ball of wax.'

Opening up on how testing acting could be, he said: 'I tried to explain to her, that's a huge burden on your nervous system. Having to process all of that attention and information. Also, you develop all of these unhealthy coping mechanisms.'

He then jokingly added, 'I was like, what's cheaper and easier is let's skip showbiz and enroll you right into cocaine. Because showbiz is not good for kids! I feel like we should know this by now.'

It comes after Ryan gave a sweet update on his newest baby girl with Blake during an interview with Extra, where he revealed that his family are ‘doing great.’

An though the Canadian actor is loving life with three daughters, he admitted that it’s not without its hardship as he said: ‘It’s hard.’

The actor, who married actress Blake in 2012, opened up about his young family during a chat with the publication as he promoted his new movie 6 Underground.

When asked how Blake and the newborn are doing, he replied: ‘They are doing great.’

Speaking further about being a father of three young girls, he said: ‘I kind of like my life.

‘I'm really sort of into my children, which I know isn't popular to say. It's hard, three girls.’

Meanwhile, during an appearance on Today on Thursday, the Deadpool star spoke about being the only guy amid four girls, stating: ‘I'd have it no other way.’ 

He then joked that having three girls with the Gossip Girl favourite is his way to ‘wipe men off the face of the earth’.

When asked if they’ve bestowed the little one with a name yet, he said: ‘We haven't yet!’ 

He then added: ‘All of the letters in her name are silent. I want to give her something to push against in life.’

The two stars already have two daughters – James, four, and Inez, three, together.

The couple shared the first image of the tot in an Instagram post in October, with Ryan also revealing the gender. 

Blake broke the pregnancy news back in May as she showed off her baby bump at the Detective Pikachu premiere in Hollywood after also keeping it a secret.

She obviously loves being a parent as she told Allure in 2012: ‘I've always wanted a big family. Oh, I'd love 30 [children] if I could.’

She told Marie Clare in 2016 that it is important for her to raise her children out of the spotlight.

The actress said: ‘Ryan [Reynolds] had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had. We don't ever want to rob them of what we had because then we'd feel really selfish.’

The happy couple have been married since 2012 after first meeting on set of the Green Lantern in 2011.
